“Unity is Strength” and this lesson came to us during the freedom struggle when the whole nation stood on one belief-Vande Mataram.
The students of Grades VII and VIII, presented a special assembly on 31st October- National Unity Day, to exhort the importance of unity on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, an apt occasion to revisit our glorious past, especially in the wake of the nation celebrating Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
A PPT portraying the key role played by the Ironman in the political integration of independent India helped the young minds to understand the spirit of this great man which continues to inspire all of us in terms of his integrity and devotion to the country. As the first Home Minister, Patel was instrumental in the integration of the princely states into the Indian federation. This achievement formed the cornerstone of Patel’s popularity in the post-independence era. Even today he is remembered as the man who united India.
A solemn pledge was taken by the students across grades and staff to upkeep the pride of India to forever remain as one. Speeches quoting anecdotes from the patriot’s life were the most interesting part of the assembly.
The principal of the school, Mr. Augustine Thomas in his message, reiterated the fact that Unity is Strength.
The students also wholeheartedly participated in the Unity Run organized by the school. The run was flagged off by the Academic Director, Shashi ma’am, Administrator, Reshmi ma’am, Principal Mr Augustine Thomas along with the Coordinators of all the segments.
