A new session always entails having a thorough understanding of the requirements for a successful new academic year. An online Parent Orientation for the students of Grades III-V and their parents was conducted on 10th June, 2023 in Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills. Principal Ms Veena Murthy heartily welcomed the students and their parents. She introduced the core team of the school beginning with recounting the immense contribution of the late Chairman Shri P Madhusudhan Rao Garu to the field of education and society and the passing of the mantle to the present Chairperson Ms Shilpa Ravi. She also mentioned the other members Ms Rama Devi, Secretary DSE Group of Institutions, Ms Shashikala Academic Director DSE Group of Institutions, Headmistress Ms Anasuya, Coordinator Ms Kavita Grades III – V, HODs and the HRTs of Grades V classes. The excellent performances of the students in the AISSE Exam as well as the school and subject toppers was brought to the fore. Ms Veena Murthy exhorted the students to emulate their seniors. Ms Kavita apprised everyone about the Tests and Assessments such as the Cycle Tests and Period Tests for Term I & II as well as the breakup of the marks and the duration of the tests and PTs. Assessments for Notebook, Co-Scholastic activities, Work Education activities, Subject Enrichment activities were also discussed. The purpose of the different methods of evaluation and how they will be useful to the students were also put forward. Homework schedule, Bell Timings, and Weekly Transaction Reports, the utility of Parent App were also discussed in the orientation program. Ms Kavita spoke about Skill Assessments through various activities for evaluating such as LSRW, Micro Teaching, etc. New Initiatives such as Learning Assistance Program, E-Library and social media links that the parents can go through to know the activities that the school conducts for the overall development of the students were also informed to the parents. Principal Ms Veena Murthy and Ms Kavita answered the queries of the parents at the end of the program.
