Independence Day Celebrations in Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills was a joyous occasion as the nation celebrates Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 15th August on India’s 75th Independence Day. The program commenced with the hosting of the national flag by the dignitaries and the singing of the national anthem. The melodious rendition of the patriotic song ‘Jahan daal daal pe’ by the school choir and the medley of patriotic songs by teachers in Telugu and Hindi, the robust patriotic dance which involved grace, rhythm, and aerobics was mesmerizing, drawing thunderous applause and the grand finale dance with foot tapping moments were truly appreciable. The Nukkad Natak reminded us about our achievements and responsibilities as citizens of the country. The students’ speech and Ted Talk showcased how keenly attuned our youth are to our country’s achievements and challenges that we face on this momentous occasion. Vice Chairperson Ms. Shilpa Ravi in her speech appreciated the students’ performance and encouraged them to continue to give their best. Principal Ms. Veena Murthy in her address motivated students to face the challenges with courage in nation building and imbibe the cultural plurality that our country proudly symbolizes. The celebrations ended with a vote of thanks.
