Consumer Awareness is a demonstration of ensuring the purchaser or buyer knows about the data and information about items, products, administrations, and buyers’ privileges. The students of Grades IX & X in Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills participated in the Inter-House Consumer Awareness Competition on 8th December, 2022. They highlighted the need for consumer awareness, spoke about the ways of identifying adulteration and their rights of expressing their grievances in Consumer Courts. The students of Grade IX conducted experiments which showed how to identify adulteration in various products such as milk, tea powder, spices and artificial colours used to make vegetables attractive. The students used everyday objects to conduct experiments. In this category, the Knights House won the first prize, Samurais won the second position and the Trojans won the third prize. The students of Grade X made colourful collages showing how consumers can seek redressal if their rights have been violated and they have been cheated. In this section, Spartans won the first prize, Knights the second prize and the Samurais and the Trojans won the third prize. The students also spoke about the channels of spreading consumer awareness such as newspapers, TV programs, awareness campaigns and movies. The judges praised the efforts of the participants and appreciated the thought process of having a unique competition of this kind.
