National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed on October 31 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who served as the first Home Minister of India after Independence. Patel is also known as the ‘The Iron Man of India’ for his efforts for the unification of over 550 princely states.
National Unity Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at DSE, Manikonda. A unity run was orgnaized for the students of middle school to spread the message of unity and to reaffirm the strength of the nation, upholding the unity, integrity and security of the country.
The support extended by Telangana Police Department and Traffic Control Department was crucial to the success of the Unity Run. Kudos to their commendable effort.
